Kevin Sloan
Kevin Sloan joins Westcor as the Regional Counsel for the Western Region.
Before joining Westcor, Kevin worked for United General Title Insurance Company,
first as a claims counsel and later as underwriting counsel serving a region consisting
of eight western states. Kevin has taken part in speaking at seminars on various
subjects including ethics and RESPA. With experience in both claims and underwriting,
Kevin brings a wide knowledge base to Westcor. Before joining the title industry,
Kevin was in the private practice of law in Kansas and Missouri. He received his
Undergraduate degree from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah and his Law degree
from Washburn University School of Law in Topeka, Kansas. Kevin lives in Castle
Rock, Colorado with his family of six. When he's not working, Kevin enjoys spending
time with his wife and kids, teaching himself how to play guitar and eating good
food.
Robert T. "Bo" Edwards
Robert T. "Bo" Edwards recently assumed a position as National Counsel for Westcor
Land Title Insurance Company in its Denver office. For many years previously he
was Senior Vice President and General Title Counsel of United General Title Insurance
Company. He received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Vanderbilt University and Doctor
of Jurisprudence Degree from the University of Mississippi School of Law. His legal
career has included work as a public defender, civil litigation and real estate
transactional practice including operation of a title insurance agency, and representation
of title insurers in claims, underwriting and regulatory functions. The majority
of his 35-plus years of law practice has been devoted to real estate transactions
and litigation and title insurance, as both in-house and outside counsel. Mr. Edwards
is admitted to practice in Colorado, Tennessee and Mississippi. He is a Past President
of the Land Title Association of Colorado and continues to serve on the Education
and Legislative Committees of that Association. He also serves on the Title Standards
Committee of the Colorado Bar Association and the Forms Committees of the American
Land Title Association. He is a certified instructor for continuing education in
several states and is a certified instructor for Lorman Education Services and national
business institute. He has written numerous articles and frequently lectures on
real estate law and title insurance related topics. He is an accomplished musician,
a model train enthusiast and enjoys traveling.
Jim Grasso
Jim Grasso is a 1968 graduate of Rocky Mountain College (BA) and a 1971
graduate of the University of Maine School of Law (JD). Upon admission to the Bar,
Jim was employed by the City of Portland, Maine as Counsel for the Portland Urban
Renewal Authority. Jim entered private practice in 1975, specializing in real estate
conveyances and in 1986 started Cumberland Title Company in Portland. Jim owned
and operated Cumberland Title Company until 1996 when he sold the agency to a national
underwriter. Jim continued to serve as President of the agency after its sale. In
1999, Jim joined Fidelity National Title as agency manager and in 2000 accepted
a transfer to the Western Region where he managed agency operations in a nine state
area. Jim recently relocated to Denver and will be acting in the capacity of Agency
Representative for Westcor throughout the Western Region.
Scott Chandler
Scott Chandler has been in the title insurance industry since 1983. Starting his
career in Seattle with Safeco Title as an examiner trainee. He spent the next ten
years working in various roles for Safeco and then Chicago Title including production,
sales and management. In 1995 he made a transition to national title and escrow
servicing, working for Commonwealth One-Stop in Pennsylvania at their then One-stop
headquarters. Moving to Denver in 1998 he began working for United General Information
Services, a sister company of United General Title, managing their title and escrow
national servicing unit. In 2000 he accepted a position with United General as Vice
President and Rocky Mountain Regional Manager having responsibility of overseeing
agency services in seven states, including underwriting, financial reports and business
development. After United General's sale to First American in February of 2005 he
was promoted to Senior Vice President and made Western Regional Manager taking on
responsibility for seventeen western states. Joining Westcor, Scott will be the
Western Regional Manager. Scott lives in Castle Rock Colorado with his wife Julie
and their four daughters. He enjoys golf, skiing and running. He has a degree from
the University of Washington in Economics and an Associate of Arts degree in Real
Estate.
